I found this article interesting.
Here's why. According to a recent Gallup poll 51 percent of Americans identify themselves as pro-life, yet only 23 percent of Americans think abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, tempered by 22 percent who think it should be legal in all circumstances. There are then 53 percent of Americans, some of whom obviously consider themselves to be pro life, who believe abortion should be legal in some instances. So, my question is, if you are willing to make allowances for special circumstances aren't you technically, by definition, pro choice?

Those are some conflicting numbers there, for sure. What a hot button issue, and I think it forever will be. People are very divided with it.
Very much a hot button issue and one that will continue to divide. I guess the survey just goes to show that the terms pro-life and pro-choice aren't definitive of the abortion debate anymore since obviously many consider themselves to be pro-life yet also feel abortion should be legal.
I think that proves the point that it's not quite as black and white as people like to make it out to be. And, some people are loathe to describe themselves as "pro-choice" even if there are circumstances that they would condone it.
Totally unrelated -- here's the monkey bread I'll be making this morning http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/05/monkey-bread/
Robyn, I agree. I think there is a lot of gray in many of the issues that people like to define as black and white. Thanks for the recipe! I think I am going to make some this weekend.
